Kia Seltos to unveil on June 20th
KUALA LUMPUR: Kia has been teasing the all-new Seltos for quite some time now, and now we have one more clip of the upcoming SUV. However, this time, a piece of useful information also poped-in along with the teaser video. According to Kia’s Indian arm, the Seltos is all set to make its global debut on June 20th, 2019.
The 24 seconds video dropped by the company is primarily focused on the SUV’s design language. Visible in the video are car’s distinctive LED headlights that divided into two parts - the top main unit is slim and seamlessly merges into the Tigre nose grille and the lower more significant piece, as can be seen, is used for turn signals. The grille shows a mesh pattern and gets chrome surrounds as well, also the daytime running lights intersect the grille.
Watching the video closely revealed Volvo XC40-like window line, two-piece tail lights connected via a chrome strip, black roof, and two-tone alloy wheels with red centre caps.
The company previously released a few sketches of the Seltos that also included a cabin drawing. The said picture featured a 10.25-inch infotainment touch display, what appeared to be a prominent grab handle for the front passenger, and air vents with metallic highlights. The South Korean automaker has confirmed that the upcoming Seltos will benefit from Soul’s Sound Mood Lighting system that pulsates as per the music.
Like the European-spec Stonic that is based on the Rio hatch, the Seltos is also expected to do so and offered in same mill options. This includes a three petrol - 1.25- and1.4-litre naturally-aspirated, and 1.0-litre turbo, along with a one diesel 1.6-litre four-pot turbo unit.
The car is expected to go on sale in South Korea and other markets by the end of this year.
