Kia extends vehicles’ warranty through Kia Promise program
KUALA LUMPUR: In this global health crisis, all the individuals, groups, and organizations are playing their part in one or the way to help the entire community. Particularly talking about the automotive industry, the firms are supporting their car owners by providing them loan payment holidays and extending their warranty period. The South Korean automaker, Kia, has recently launched the Kia Promise, a global warranty extension program. It is specifically designed to help Kia customers whose movements are restricted due to the COVID-19 outbreak in the world.
The program is applicable to all the vehicles which posses the original Kia warranty that is scheduled to expire between February 1 and April 30. The program has extended the warranty to June 30, 2020. Kia Promise is effective in 142 countries, including Malaysia, and offers peace of mind to 500,000 Kia customers during uncertain times.
Kia senior VP and head of Global Customer Experience Division, Sangdae Kim, mentioned, “By extending Kia’s comprehensive warranty cover to customers who may be affected by the pandemic, Kia Motors hopes they have one less thing to worry about during this time. Our goal is to help to alleviate any concerns our customers have about vehicle maintenance during periods of social distancing.”
Naza Kia Malaysia also assured the customers that the lockdown period would not be going to impact the after-sales services of the car owners. Before this, the firm had declared that all the current warranties would remain valid even though the customers had missed the preventive maintenance service due to MCO. As per the service division, an additional grace period of two-months or 2,000 km service interval will be given to all the customers after the end of MCO beyond the standard six-month or 10,000 km.
The MCO period in Malaysia has recently extended to April 28.
