Kia adds a new slogan to its updated logo
KUALA LUMPUR: Kia has now confirmed its new logo will be revealed in January 2021, as part of the brand’s relaunch. Also, ‘The Power to Surprise' slogan we have been seeing accompanying the brand logo will be replaced with a brand new phrase ‘Movement that Inspires’. We’ll soon be seeing it in use once the automaker makes it official and the new advertisements are rolled out.
Kia’s global CEO, HO Sung Song, in January 2020 announced its ‘PLAN S’ strategy that focused on ‘shift’ from internal combustion engines to electric vehicles and customised mobility solutions. This strategy is basically designed to facilitate brand innovation and increase profitability. And we feel the new logo and slogan are a part of the Plan S scheme.
Though nothing is official or sure at the moment, the first car that we expect to feature the new Kia logo and promoted with the revised slogan is the Cadenza/K7. This Kia car itself is rumored to undergo an identity change with it being renamed K8, hunting the next-gen model being a bit more premium and moving upmarket.
Reports are also suggesting that the next-gen K8 sedan’s order books will open in mid-Feb 2021 for the South Korean market. If that’s the case then we are just a few weeks away from meeting the new Kia. As for the name change, we aren’t sure whether or not it’ll be happening, and if it does, it remains to be seen whether or not it will be a global change.
