Different name in Malaysia
As the Malaysian market already has an SUV with the name ‘X70’ (Proton X70), Jetour Malaysia will bring its SUV with a different name, which is yet to be announced.
Initially CBU, later CKD
Jetour launched the X70 Plus in Indonesia late last year, making it the first ASEAN market to receive the D-segment SUV. It is locally assembled in Indonesia, as a part of the automaker’s broader strategy to strengthen its presence in Southeast Asia.
The local assembly of Jetour vehicles in Malaysia has also been confirmed, however, the company remains tight-lipped on the local assembly partner name. The SUV will be first offered as an imported model, followed by the CKD version at a later date.
Striking exterior
The upcoming Chinese SUV has an aggressive front face with a huge octagonal grille flanked by two elongated LED headlights and LED daytime running lights. The side profile is adorned with chrome accents around the windows and 19-inch two-tone alloy wheels wrapped in rugged tyres. The rear stands out with wide tail lights and a symmetrical quad-exhaust arrangement.
