JAECOO J7 now available for public test drive at BÖN Estates, Bangsar

KUALA LUMPUR:  JAECOO Malaysia has recently rolled out its public test drive for its premier off-road SUV, the J7, now available in collaboration with BÖN Estates, a boutique property developer in Malaysia. This partnership aims to merge premium urban living with automotive luxury, providing an aspirational lifestyle experience for potential homeowners and SUV enthusiasts alike.

Since the beginning of the event, which started on May 9, the initiative has seen considerable public interest. The BÖN Estates Gallery in Bangsar, where the test drives are being conducted, attracted nearly 2,000 visitors in just four days, with more than 470 test drives executed. This response underscores the strong appeal of the JAECOO J7 among Malaysia’s burgeoning class of sophisticated urban consumers.

Leo Chen, President of JAECOO Malaysia, expressed his enthusiasm about the partnership, emphasizing the alignment of both brands in serving the high-end lifestyle aspirations of their clientele. Goh Soo Sing, Founder and Group CEO of BÖN Estates, also highlighted the strategic benefit of the collaboration in enhancing the lifestyle offerings to their community and attracting new customers.

The test drives feature both All-wheel Drive (AWD) and Two-wheel Drive (2WD) variants of the J7, set against the backdrop of BÖN Estates' signature living spaces that blend natural aesthetics with modern technology. The J7's design includes distinctive elements like a hexagonal vertical waterfall grille, 19-inch "Aurora-inspired" alloy wheels, and an advanced split lighting system, which have significantly impressed the attendees.

During the event, visitors could experience the J7’s range of advanced features, including its Intelligent Technology Cabin with a 14.8-inch central display for navigation, a 540-degree camera, a 50W air-cooled wireless charger, and a SONY Surround Sound System, which also supports Apple Car Play and Android Auto.

The test drives also demonstrated the J7 AWD’s adaptive controls, which offer seven different driving modes to suit various road conditions, highlighting its fuel efficiency and superior acceleration, with a fuel consumption of 7.48L/100KM. Additionally, the vehicle’s commitment to safety was showcased through its global 5-star security and safety standards.

Beneath the sleek exterior, the J7 is equipped with a robust 1.6TGDI engine that delivers a powerful 194 HP and 290Nm of torque. This engine is seamlessly paired with a 7-speed dual-clutch transmission for swift and smooth gear shifts. Its sophisticated all-wheel drive (AWD) system features rapid torque intervention, dynamically adapting to varying surface conditions in real-time.

This capability was prominently showcased at the recent JAECOO x M4TREC event, where media representatives and key opinion leaders experienced firsthand the impressive handling and performance capabilities of this premium off-road SUV.

The J7 AWD is priced at approximately RM160,000, while the J7 2WD comes at around RM150,000. The public can continue to book test drives at the BÖN Estates Gallery by appointment through the JAECOO Malaysia website.
