Adding to its accolades, the D-Max’s 1.9-litre Single Cab model recently conquered over 1,000km with a full load, despite navigating three mountain passes, each with elevations exceeding 1,000 metres.

In the latest test, Isuzu Malaysia challenged three different variants: the 1.9-litre 4x2 Auto Plus, the best-selling 1.9-litre 4x4 Auto Premium, and the range-topping 3.0-litre 4x4 X-Terrain. The journey started in Phitsanulok, Thailand, about 300km north of Bangkok, and ended in Klang, Selangor.

The challenge was completed with the third-generation Isuzu D-Max Facelift, featuring a refreshed aerodynamic design and updated Euro 4-compliant engines known for their enhanced power and fuel efficiency.

The achievement, which was certified by the Motorsports Association of Malaysia (MAM), saw the vehicles’ fuel tanks sealed and monitored throughout the trip to ensure no additional fuel was added.

Upon arrival in Klang, the feat earned the D-Max a spot in the Malaysian Book of Records for the "Longest Distance Driven In A Pick-up Truck With A Single Tank Of Fuel."

Isuzu Malaysia’s CEO, Shunsuke Okazoe, was on hand to celebrate the achievement, praising the engineering behind the brand's Blue Power diesel engines. “While we don’t expect every customer to achieve 2,000km on a single tank, this milestone demonstrates the level of engineering excellence that makes such a feat possible,” Okazoe stated at the event, held at the new Ultra Gallant Isuzu 3S Centre in Klang.
