Hyundai to introduce 13 electrified cars by 2022
KUALA LUMPUR: The famous automobile manufacturer, Hyundai has announced to launch 13 new electric cars by the year, 2022. The forthcoming cars, all lined up in a row, will be Alternatively Fuelled Vehicles (AFV). This move moreover states that Hyundai is shifting its focus towards environment-friendly products.
Mike O’Brien, VP of product, corporate and digital planning of Hyundai Motor America said “As the automotive industry evolves to meet the needs of a diverse customer base and environmentally-aware society, we will continue to provide alternative-propulsion options in a variety of product choices.
” He has also added “For consumers seeking forward-thinking and eco-friendly personal transportation options, Hyundai’s product line-up meets these criteria and more.”
Among all the 13 cars, there will be seven SUVs and six sedans. They might be a regular petrol hybrid and plug-in hybrid cars, or completely electric. The upcoming models include Inoiq Hybrid, Ioniq Plug-in Hybrid and updated Ioniq Electric.
The report also says that the trio will be uncovered at the Los Angeles Auto Show this month. Along with these three models, all-new Sonata Hybrid will join the lot. Whereas the rest nine eco-focused products will be introduced in the coming next three years in stages. Expectedly, yet-to-be updated Hyundai Kona will be one of the nine vehicles.
