Honda to showcase 2019 X-ADV 150 at GIIAS; images leaked

KUALA LUMPUR: Today is a pretty big day for the ASEAN automotive market. Why do we say so? Well, today is the opening day of GIIAS, that’s short for Gaikindo Indonesia International Auto Show, and it is known to be the debut/launching stage of many cars and motorcycles every year. Especially, the sub-250cc category is the one to top its debut list. This year, however, the model rumoured to make it to the GIIAS stage is the 2019 Honda X-ADV 150.

We aren’t sure about launch details, but a leaked image coming from the Honda product video is making rounds on the internet.

The Honda X-ADV first entered the motor arena in 2016 as an adventure scooter. Initially, it sourced its power from a 745cc engine coupled with Honda DCT twin-clutch automatic gearbox. The adventure quotient of the scooter is delivered through appealing accessories like spoked wheels, handguards, and engine skid plate.

The upcoming X-AVD at the GIIAS today is expected to be a smaller version of the original model with smaller engine and chassis but same appealing ‘adventure’ styling. Honda is tight-lipped on the arrival and specs of the 2019 X-ADV, but we are expecting it to come in either 150cc or 250cc format.

In case the 2019 X-ADV 150 is a 150cc model, it would compete against the likes of Yamaha NVX155 (known as Aerox in other ASEAN markets). If priced right, this Honda scooter has immense potential to grab great sales numbers as it has amazing modern looks liked by today’s young buyers.
