Honda Malaysia hits a new milestone - 170,000th Civic and 150,000th HR-V delivered

KUALA LUMPUR: It's no secret that Honda models, known for their reliability, innovation, and appeal, enjoy a huge fan following in Malaysia. This popularity has led to another milestone for Honda Malaysia, with the Japanese automaker recently announcing the delivery of its 170,000th Civic and 150,000th HR-V in the country, marking a significant achievement since its establishment in 2000.

KEY TAKEAWAYS

  • What special recognition did the milestone vehicle owners receive?

Both Lim Chin Hui and Asha Waheda were presented with a gift and Honda Genuine Accessories worth RM 10,000.
  • Where is the special handover ceremony held?

The special handover ceremony was held at Honda Botanic Auto Mall in Klang.
  • The milestone vehicles include the Honda Civic eRS painted in Platinum White Pearl and the Honda HR-V e:HEV RS sprayed in Meteoroid Grey Metallic. These models were purchased by Lim Chin Hui and Asha Waheda, respectively.

To commemorate this achievement, Honda Malaysia hosted a handover ceremony at Honda Botanic Auto Mall in Klang. It was attended by Lim Chin Hui and Asha Waheda’s representative, Achmad Khidir bin Member. Both lucky owners were honoured at the event and received a special gift along with Honda Genuine Accessories valued at RM 10,000.

Upon hitting the new milestone, Honda Malaysia managing director and CEO Hironobu Yoshimura said, “Now in its 11th Generation, the Civic is an iconic Honda model and has maintained its position as the non-national C-segment leader for eight consecutive years since 2016. The HR-V meanwhile, has won the hearts of many Malaysians since its debut in Malaysia nine years ago and set a high benchmark in the compact SUV segment. With its exceptional design and advanced powertrain options, we believe the HR-V will continue to be Malaysian’s favourite compact SUV. As we celebrate the delivery of the 170,000th Civic and 150,000th HR-V, we extend our sincere gratitude to both our customers for being part of Honda’s journey and helping us in achieving this significant milestone.”.

Honda Malaysia successfully secured the position of No.1 in the Non-National Passenger Vehicle Segment in Malaysia for the tenth consecutive year in 2023, maintaining this title since 2014. In the first half of 2024, the Japanese automaker registered an impressive growth of 16%, despite the market slowdown.

The main driver of Honda Malaysia’s growth is none other than the Honda HR-V, which is now the brand’s No. 1 selling model in the country.
