Honda Integra is making a comeback in 2022
KUALA LUMPUR: Honda Integra is coming back to the global auto arena in 2022. How will it look? Well, we have no idea, however, here are some render images to keep everyone going.
Note, these Integra render images aren’t official, but surely takes one’s breath away. They are the creation of Jordan Rubinstein-Towler. He didn’t limit himself to the design language that looks modern enough but has also created the car’s full specification sheet.
Now, before moving forward, we’d like to tell you that ‘Integra’ is popular among die-hard Honda fans and petrolheads. And for the group, the car’s return is the most welcoming news.
It was during the recently concluded Monterey Car Week that Acura dropped the first indication of the legend’s return via drones. While the automaker limited itself to Integra’s comeback announcement, these renders have made the upcoming car a bit vivid.
Integra’s recent render images highlight -
Design: The car shown in the images seems to carry Type R form and several angular bits from the ongoing Acuras. For instance, the sharp LED headlights and grille that are identical to the recently launched Acura's TLX Type S sport sedan
Engine: The rendered image of the engine bay showed an unfamiliar unit, we were expecting the one that powers the Civic Type R. What we instead see is a 2.4-litre 4-cylinder VTEC mill pumping out a maximum power of 276 bhp at 8,600 rpm. Thus suggesting it is a modern-day Honda resisting the turbo movement. The power is sent to the wheels via a close-ratio six-speed manual gearbox
Performance-enhancing inclusions: A titanium exhaust, limited-slip differential, and manually adjustable coil overs with 18-inch Enkei forged wheels
Weight: The upcoming Integra weighs under 1.2 tonnes, all thanks to the carbon fibre inclusions like the bonnet, hatch, and roof
Interior: The cabin showcases the minimalist beauty of an Elise S1. For instance, it gets Alcantara wrapped steering wheel, digital dials, a stereo system, air-con system, and active drive assist system
The last Integra was built in 2006, due to the shortage in demand for Coupe body type cars. The finest of the last-gen Integra was limited to the Japanese market only and was powered by a 2.0-litre DOHC i-VTEC 4-cylinder mill making 220 hp of power. Its specs sheet included red Recaro seats, close-ratio 6-speed manual gearbox, four-piston Brembo front brakes, a variable pressure exhaust system, and a limited-slip differential.
