Honda hits a mammoth sales count with 43,957 units in Malaysia
Kuala Lumpur: The renowned Japanese automaker, Honda is certainly known for its intuitive technological innovations that marque it to be a distinct auto car manufacturing company. Amongst, some of its formidable products like Honda City, Jazz, HR-V, CR-V and Accord make it possible for the brand to lead the market share. These vehicles account for the bulk of Honda Malaysia sales.
Honda said, its sales grew by 41 percent due to the contribution of fuel-efficient and versatile Honda City, which is currently the best-selling model of the brand in Malaysia. This is followed by Honda Jazz at 19% and Honda HR-V at 17%. In addition, Honda Accord has also achieved a considerable position in terms of sales as of June 2015.
The industry-wide figures pointed to a strong finish for 2015 looking after current sales count. Analysts are predicting considerable growth at a better rate of growth from last year and a return to pre-recession levels. According to some analysts, Malaysians will continue to buy cars in big numbers this year. They are predicting annual sales target of 85,000 units this year. Honda Malaysia has successfully managed to sell 43,597 vehicles in the first half of 2015 (which is 51% of estimated annual target). Looking after all the stats from January to June 2015, Honda becomes a clear winner in the non-national segment, accounting for 13.5% of the Total Industry Volume (TIV).
Closely looking after the figures, you will clearly get to know about the increasing graph for Honda Malaysia sales beating strong rivals like Perodua, Proton and Toyota. Honda’s sales increased by 6,408 units or 17% against the 37,189 units sold in the first half of 2014. Its current market share marks a considerable 2.3-point improvement compared to the same period last year. Honda Sales in East Malaysia have also contributed to the company growth, with increased sale count - 2,390 units in the first six months of 2015 (32% higher than 1,814 units achieved in the same period last year).
Also, Honda Malaysia has wide-spread plans meeting the demand of the auto market in the region. Honda aims to have 90 dealers by 2016 and increased annual sales to 100,000 units. Honda has planned to add three new dealerships in East Malaysia to its existing 10 dealerships by the end of the year in order to make positive efforts in terms of growth and advancement. Part of the planning structure, the company is going to establish a logistics hub in the same region, a regional office, training facilities and warehouse.
