Honda Civic facelift now open for booking in Malaysia, launching in Jan 2025

KUALA LUMPUR: Honda Malaysia has officially opened bookings for the highly awaited new Honda Civic facelift, which is set to debut in January 2025.

This latest iteration of the Civic aims to refine the popular C-segment sedan with its blend of updated style, performance, and cutting-edge features.

Positioned as a model that continues Honda’s reputation for excellence, it seeks to deliver an enhanced driving experience.

Honda Malaysia’s Managing Director and Chief Executive Officer, Hironobu Yoshimura, emphasized the brand’s commitment to innovation and driving pleasure in a statement: “The Civic is a symbol of Honda’s commitment to innovation and driving pleasure. With the introduction of this new model, we aim to further strengthen our presence in the market by delivering a vehicle that combines advanced features, dynamic performance, and sleek design, delivering a complete package of holistic experience that transforms the way we drive today.”

The new Civic will be available in two RS variants: the e:HEV RS and the Petrol RS.

The e:HEV RS features a sportier look with body-coloured front grille extensions and lower grille garnishes, complemented by a newly designed 18-inch Matte Grey Alloy Wheel.

On the other hand, the Petrol RS variant sports black-painted front grille extensions and lower grille garnishes for a more aggressive appearance.

Performance-wise, the e:HEV RS is equipped with a 2.0L hybrid powertrain, delivering an impressive 184PS and 315Nm of torque.

Meanwhile, the Petrol RS variant is powered by a 1.5L VTEC Turbocharged engine, generating 182PS and 240Nm of torque, offering strong performance and efficiency within its class.

Safety and connectivity remain a priority in the Civic, with Honda SENSING providing a suite of nine advanced safety features as standard.

The model also includes Honda CONNECT, which integrates safety, security, and convenience features via a smartphone application.

The New Civic’s refreshed design, advanced hybrid technology, and segment-leading features aims to be the benchmark in the C-segment.

The Civic has long been a staple in Malaysia’s automotive market, resonating strongly with local drivers. Since the launch of its 11th generation in 2022, over 28,000 units have been sold nationwide.

According to Honda Malaysia, the Civic has maintained its position as the top choice in the non-national C-segment for eight consecutive years, commanding a dominant 70% market share as of October 2024.
