Here’s a close look at the upcoming BYD Atto 3 Interior

BYD is set to launch two electric vehicles in Malaysia very soon; one of which is the Atto 3. This is a C-segment electric SUV that will go up against the other electric cars in the local market such as the Hyundai Kona Electric, Nissan Leaf, Renault Zoe, and the upcoming Ora Good Cat. Today, we will be discussing the playful cabin of this upcoming Chinese EV in detail, which is loaded with several user-friendly functions and quirky elements. So, let’s get started.

Dashboard

Hop inside the BYD Atto 3 and you will be greeted by a modern, premium-looking dashboard incorporating a wave-type layout and dual-tone blue and grey colour tone. On the edges of the dash, you will see dumbbell-style air-conditioning vents exuding an energetic vibe.

Infotainment unit

At the centre of the dash lies a massive 12.8-inch touchscreen infotainment unit called Adaptive Rotating Suspension Electronic Pad. You can rotate this super large screen (landscape or portrait) with just a finger touch as per the requirement and it will offer you a truly intelligent interactive experience. The system also integrates other advanced functions like Android Auto and AppleCarplay connectivity, voice recognition, intelligent voice reminder, Bluetooth music, hands-free calling, and more.

Instrument cluster 

The Chinese EV houses a five-inch digital instrument cluster mated to a three-spoke steering wheel. The display appears slightly small but offers an easy-to-read layout telling all the necessary information about the vehicle. 

Central console

On the muscular streamlined central console of the EV, we can find a unique gear lever, which seems inspired by an aircraft and a treadmill-style armrest, helping the EV look like a futuristic vehicle.

Door handles

Another interesting element you will get inside the BYD Atto 3 is the quirky door handles that are mounted above the speakers available on the door pads. 

Guitar-like strings

The door panels also feature quirky red strings paired with the round speakers emulating a guitar-like design. According to the automaker, occupants can strum the playful 'guitar' and create their own melody. These flexible strings can also be used to hold bottles and other stuff.

Wireless charging pad

Inside the BYD Atto 3 cabin also lies a fast charging pad that can let the passengers charge their smartphones wirelessly during the journeys.

Around view monitor

For a clear display of the surroundings, the Atto 3 has a 360° Holographic Transparent Imaging System. This advanced monitoring unit can look all around the vehicle and even underneath the car, and leave no possibility of a blind spot.

Seats

The seats of the SUV are ergonomically designed to offer a comfortable ride to the occupants. These are wrapped in leather upholstery made from sustainable vegan material. The front seats are electrically adjustable and also feature a heating function.

Sunroof 

The SUV also incorporates a vibrant Panoramic Sunroof measuring 1,261 mm in length and 849 mm in width. It extends all the way back to the second row and offers an apparent view of the beauty that surrounds above. The roof comes with an Electric Slide and Anti-pinch feature.

Ambient light

Helping occupants light up their feelings is multi-coloured ambient lighting. This rhythmic and interactive system listens to different moods and responds automatically to rhythms of music and flowing illumination.

Rear passenger area

Based on BYD e-Platform 3.0, the Atto 3 boasts a completely flat floor on the rear, which offers an amazingly spacious legroom, making the commute more relaxing and joyful for the passengers sitting at the back.

Boot space

The EV also offers the passenger a large luggage compartment measuring 555 litres. It can be expandable up to 1338 litres thanks to the foldable rear seat that can be folded down flat, making the space more flexible and adjustable. 

So, that was a detailed look at the upcoming BYD Atto 3 interior. The EV will be offered with a single electric motor setup coupled with a 60-kWh Blade battery pack offering an ARAI-claimed driving range of 521 km. It will support both AC and DC charging options. As for the charging time, the automaker claims an 80% Soc in 50 minutes with an 80kW fast socket and 10 hours for a 100% task with a 7kW AC charger.
