Here' what we know about Picasso's first car, the PS-01
KUALA LUMPUR: Picasso Automotive is a new Swiss car company found by Stefano Picasso. And it is turning all stones to establish itself as a small, tenacious brand that builds limited-run supercars and sports cars with immense focus on impressive power-to-weight ratio. One of the first examples of its work is the Picasso PS-01, whose official images are now revealed by the automaker.
The Picasso PS-01 features a 3.2-meter long carbon fibre panel, a carbon rear subframe, and therefore is rightly referred to as 'the craziest carbon fiber car ever' by its creators. Furthermore, this modern, artisanal supercar takes engineering inspiration from the LMP2 endurance cars. All the carbon fine helps keep its weight down to 900 kg.
The teaser images released by the Swiss automaker reveals that the PS-01 is a compact and sinuous coupe with a mid-mounted powerplant. More details are expected to be revealed in the months to follow, however, rumours are that it'll get a twin-turbo V6 making around 600 hp.
The development of Picasso PS-01 involves a number of technical partners, ensuring the car gets nothing but the best. For instance, it gets its seat from Sabelt, gearbox from Sadev, stoppers from Carbo Brake, and suspension from Ohlins.
The first example of the Picasso PS-01 will hit the race track shortly and will be completed by mid-2021.
