GWM Malaysia delivers the Ora Good Cat in a surprising gift box

KUALA LUMPUR: With its first batch of Ora Good Cats duly received in mid-December, Great Wall Motors Malaysia has now officially begun deliveries for the EV. The Chinese automaker delivered the cars to the first owners in a completely festive and attractive way. It packed the Good Cat in a giant transparent ‘gift box’ and made a surprise door-to-door delivery just right in time for the festive season.

GWM Malaysia Managing Director, Mike Cui said, “We are proud to have delivered the first batch of Ora Good Cat, GWM’s first fully electric car to our Malaysian customers. As much as we value our customers, we hope that they enjoyed our surprise delivery of Ora Good Cat as a giant ‘holiday gift’ to their doorsteps!”

As a quick recap, the GWM Ora Good Cat made its official debut in Malaysia on November 28 and is offered in two variants - 400 PRO and 500 ULTRA. The former retails at RM 139,800, while for the latter, you need to shell out an amount of RM 169,800. The mentioned prices are on-the-road and exclude insurance, however, it covers a 5-year/150,000 km manufacturer’s warranty, an 8-year/180,000 km battery warranty, 5 free labour services, and a free portable and home charger.

As for the driving range, the Ora Good Cat 400 PRO can travel up to 400 km (on the NEDC cycle) on a single charge thanks to a 47.8 kWh battery pack. However, packed with a larger 63.1-kWh unit, the Ora Good Cat 500 ULTRA provides a drive of 500 km. In terms of power, both trims get the same electric motor which dishes out a maximum power of 143 hp and a peak torque of 210 Nm. 

Standard equipment kit of the EV comprises of an automatic LED headlights, LED daytime running lights, LED tail lights, an electric panoramic sunroof, powered wing mirrors, 18-inch alloy wheels, and auto rain-sensing wipers. Inside you get a 7.0-inch digital driver display, a 10.25-inch infotainment unit, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, a 360-degree surround-view monitor, a wireless charging pad, electronic parking brake, 6-way electrically-adjustable driver seats, automatic climate control, and synthetic leather upholstery.
