Guess what? Fast & Furious 7 Lykan HyperSport supercar is up for grab
KUALA LUMPUR: Yes, it is true. World’s last remaining HyperSport stunt car is out for auction and it indeed would be a great sight to witness. However, the prospective bidders must know that the beast is a bit torn down from all that it had gone through in its movie career. As can be seen in the images the ORVMs are torn off and the rear wheel hubs are missing too. And the scratches and plexiglass windows are hard to miss. Oh, did we mention the grille is damaged as well?
Thinking the beautiful interior will be blissful? It is a bit scuffed up. And don’t even think about taking it out on a spin, as it can’t be driven, you see.
This real-life movie car is being auctioned off via RubiX, a physical partner to NFT (non-fungible token). Furthermore, it is estimated to sell between $4750k and $2.2 million with the current bidding sitting at just over half a million dollars.
Now, the fact of the matter is that the Lykan HyperSport is not a supercar. How? Well, it is moulded in the shape of the rare Middle Eastern supercar and is made up of fibreglass and aluminium. It gets 240 bhp flat-six and was designed to be catapulted through buildings and not zoom-around on roads. So, the crux is it is a stunt car. The very last of the ten created for Fast and Furious 7.
Do you remember the iconic scene where the Lykan was sent flying through UAE skyscrapers? If not, go check it out. Coz what you’ll see is very much the reality. Well, for pulling off such a jump, the stunt team required quite a few HyperSports. Back then the car used a Porsche Boxster flat-six engine putting out around 300 bhp (in real-life it makes 750 bhp).
