KUALA LUMPUR: The Exora has been around for about 14 years and since its introduction in 2009, the family MPV has gained so much love and appreciation from the buyers. However, now it is all coming to an end with the reports about Proton ceasing Exora’s production.

    Proton Exora production ending soon

    When asked about Proton Exora’s discontinuation or probable update, Proton Deputy Chief Executive Officer (CEO) Roslan Abdullah said that the arrangement is flexible. “Everything we produce will be based on the market requirement” and that “If there is a demand and the volume is justifiable for our investment, Proton will be glad to be involved in a 7-seater MPV or more because our task is to build a vehicle to move people from point A to point B,” said Abdullah.

    Here’s a little about the ongoing Proton Exora -

    It was in 2022 that Proton gave the Exora MPV a mild refresh followed by a price hike of RM 3000. The revised specs sheet included electronic stability control as a standard feature on all variants along with the Proton’s latest emblem on the outside.

    Proton Exora details

    Powering the Exora is a 1.6-liter turbocharged CamPro engine making a maximum power of 140 hp along with a peak torque of 205 Nm. The drive is sent to the wheels via a continuously variable transmission.

    While the Exora still misses out on the advanced safety features, its standard kit is no less and includes - two airbags, ABS, EBD, and ESC.
