WTC Automotif (WTCA) plans to stir up the SUV market by opening bookings for the GAC GS3 EMZOOM, a compact SUV that promises to be a game-changer in terms of innovation and driving performance. And that's not all – they're also giving us a sneak peek into two more intriguing models: the GAC EMKOO and the GAC AION Y PLUS.

  • The big reveal came from WTCA, a subsidiary of Warisan TC Holdings, during an exclusive preview event. They announced the booking for the GAC GS3 EMZOOM is now open, with a booking fee of RM1,000. The first 100 bookings even comes with an invite to a special event.

    Tan Keng Meng, the CEO of Warisan TC Holdings, shared their enthusiasm about this partnership with GAC Motor and GAC AION. The event was a showcase of what's to come from GAC, including the much-talked-about GAC GS3 EMZOOM.

    The GAC GS3 EMZOOM comes in two versions – Exclusive and Premium-R – and is likely to be priced below RM130,000. It’s available in four limited-edition colors. For those eager to see it in person, GAC is hosting a roving activation event in the Klang Valley. Also in the pipeline is a CKD version, expected to be produced in Tan Chong Motor's Kuala Lumpur Assembly plant by Q2 2024.

    Tan also unveiled plans for expanding their showroom network, with the first opening in Petaling Jaya soon, and several more across strategic locations in Malaysia.

    The design of the GAC GS3 EMZOOM is a blend of futurism and elegance. It features distinctive design elements like the Mecha Wing Grille and Laser Eye Split LED lights at the front, matched with Light Dart tail lights at the back. These elements combine to give the SUV a modern and attention-grabbing look.

    The vehicle also features a prominent Rear Spoiler that adds to its sporty character, along with a sleek ducktail-style spoiler integrated into the bodywork, reminiscent of high-end performance oriented luxury cars. The sophistication continues with Electric Hidden Door Handles and a Crystal Shift Gear Selector, each detail crafted to elevate the vehicle's overall elegance and appeal. dual-tone interior.

    Performance-wise, it's powered by a 3rd Generation 1.5T GDI engine, producing 177PS @5500rpm and 270Nm @ 1,400rpm. It has a fuel consumption rating of 5.9l/100km.

    The GAC EMKOO SUV, also previewed at the event, is a testament to WTCA's commitment to diverse and high-quality vehicles. Its design features a Borderless V-Shape Grille and LED Headlamps known as the “Eyes of Revelation.”

    It's interior is all about digitalization featuring a fully digital instrument cluster with a semi-floating appearance. Engine wise the EMKOO SUV  is offered in a few powertrains globally, but we're expected to get the same 1.5T GDI from the EMZOOM

    But perhaps the most exciting reveal was the GAC AION Y PLUS, marking WTCA's foray into the electric vehicle market. Powered by GAC AION’s proprietary Magazine battery, this EV promises safety and impressive travel range, while also offering a striking design and trendy color options.

    The Magazine Battery has a capacity of 63.2kWH with a maximum output of 200PS, and the GAC AION Y PLUS is expected to have a travel range of 490km (NEDC) or 430km (WLTP). 

    This strategic move towards electric mobility underlines WTCA's commitment to sustainable future solutions. Tan Keng Meng expressed pride in WTCA's role as the sole distributor of GAC AION vehicles in Malaysia, emphasizing the significance of this partnership in shaping a greener future.
