KUALA LUMPUR: 2023 will be an exciting year for the Malaysian automobile industry, as Honda Malaysia is all set to introduce 4 models - 3 all-new models and one facelift model.

Honda Malaysia will better its customer experiance via tthe ntroduction of 2S Pit Stop, promotion of after-sales activities, enhancement of Honda CONNECT system, and more.The news was shared by the Honda Malaysia President & Chief Operating Officer Mr. Sarly Adle Sarkum at the Honda Media Gathering 2023.
Addressing to the crowd he said, “2023 marks a great milestone for us as Honda celebrates its 75th anniversary. Continuing the Challenging Spirit that is ingrained in us since the Company’s founding, Honda Malaysia strives to accelerate our momentum this year through new model launches and marketing activities. To further strengthen the core identity and brand presence in the industry, we focus on leveraging three key pillars for our models, which are Advanced Technology, Premium Offerings, and Sporty Appeal. The combination of these three key pillars will make the upcoming Honda models even more unique in the market and elevate their status in their respective segments.
“In addition, Honda Malaysia will further strengthen our hybrid technology in the Malaysian market. We were the pioneers in introducing hybrid technology in this country 19 years ago. The technology has evolved significantly since, starting with Integrated Motor Assist (IMA) to Sport Hybrid i-DCD, and now we have taken a step further with e:HEV technology.”
“Electrification is the global trend and future of mobility for the automotive industry. As such, Honda is also stepping up its electric vehicle (EV) development efforts progressively. Honda believes that hybrid technology is the right approach at this point of time, particularly in Malaysia. We want to ensure Malaysians’ needs are being fulfilled with the most practical and relevant technologies before fully adopting EVs,” added Mr. Early.
Also, the Japanese automaker has set a sales target of 80,000 units for the year with a 12.3% market share. Obviously, these new introductions will pave the way for the company to achieve its goals.
Amongst the three new Honda models will be the company’s first Small Sport Utility Vehicle (SUV). Slated for a Q3 2023 launch, with its arrival Honda will become the first Japanese mass-market manufacturer to enter the Small SUV segment. Tagged as the ‘perfect companion for young professionals and families’ the new Honda will pack a vibrant & bold design, practicality, advanced technology, and comfort. Thus being apt for enjoying travel and outdoor activities.
Apart from introducing new models, Honda Malaysia also has several other things planned to improve customer experience via the following -
- Introduction of 2S Pit Stop
- Promote after-sales activities
- Enhance Honda CONNECT system (Safety, Security, & Convenience)
- Introduce Honda CONNECT in several models like the City RS, City Hatchback RS, Civic RS, and Civic e:HEV RS
- Introduce the upgraded HondaTouch platform
- Key emphasizes on fulfilling bookings and ensuring the timely delivery of new models despite of global semiconductor shortage
