Ford S-Max 2016 launched in Malaysia – Ford plans to expand its fleet

Kuala Lumpur: The all-new Ford S-Max has finally landed in Malaysia with a bang. This very popular American MPV was earlier spied in December 2015 along with the all-new Ford Everest with no clue of arrival date but, bingo! it's here. With the launch of new Ford S-Max 2016, the leading automobile brand has made its line-up more extensive. The second-generation S-Max is a 7-seater big family car which was initially revealed during the Geneva Motor Show 2006 and since then, it is ruling on Malaysian road without any hitch. This time, the manufacturer chose Paris to flaunt the revised version of this beautiful car globally. The 2016 S-Max price is kept highly competitive in its segment with RM 235,000 exclusive of insurance.

For Malay customers, Ford is making only the Titanium trim available while the global market would be receiving Zetec, Titanium and Titanium Sport. Talking about the new S-Max 2016 engine, it comprises of an efficient 2.0-litre EcoBoost unit with a capacity of 240 PS of power and 345 Nm of high torque. This powertrain is further mingled with Ford signature SelectShift 6-speed transmission for excellence in pick up and acceleration even during mild off-road tracks. Well, if you think that power and performance are the only attraction, think twice. The revised version has landed with various revised specs and aspects inside out which would keep you awestruck.

The new model of this Ford MPV comes with a pair of adaptive LED headlights and tail lamps with automatic wipers for the windshield. The exterior has not received many changes in the styling part but the already given features have been further enhanced with a hint of chrome and gloss. The cabin is also given a cosmetic enhancement with premium upholstery and dual-zone climate control unit. To make it more convenient, an electronic parking brake and paddle shifters are plotted in the 2016 S-Max. Advancement can be seen in infotainment segment also. The revised unit comprises of a 9-speaker Sony audio system, USB connectivity, Bluetooth, iPod compatibility and an 8-inch touchscreen to deliver fun onboard.

Apart from this newest launch, Ford has kept itself highly active in the global auto market. Just a couple of days ago, the brand announced that its Ford Fiesta ST200 would be unwrapped during the upcoming Geneva Motor Show 2016. Also, 2016 Ford Kuga made its debut at the Mobile World Congress organized in the last week of February.
