Ford rolls out 40 millionth F-Series truck in the US
KUALA LUMPUR: Production milestones are big for every auto manufacturer. In the past we have seen models hitting one million and even ten million production marks but rarely have we come across a figure as big as 40 million. And Ford Motors achieved the same with its high performing truck, the F-Series.
Ford’s US based Michigan facility, Dearborn Truck Plant recently rolled out the F-Series 40-million unit. Amazing, right?
The pictures you see above are of the 2022 Ford F-150 Tremor. Painted in Iconic Silver, it won’t be lay ideal, decorated in a museum, instead it will fulfil its destiny and will serve its Texas based owner. In Ford’s own words, “that’s what Ford trucks do”, and we can’t agree more.
Alongside the 2022 F-150 Tremor stands a red truck. Do you recognise it? Well, many won’t as it is the 1950 Ford F-1. It was there reminding everyone how far the brand and the model has come.
Ford began the production of the first-gen F-Series trucks in 1947, that’s 75 years ago. In 1948, the F-1,F-2, F-3, and F-4 went on sale. Also, the production of the first-gen model snapped from 1948 to 1950.
In addition to the production milestone there is more to the F-Series truck that’s recognised as America’s favourite car. For instance, it has been America's best-selling truck for 45 years and outright best-selling vehicle in the country for 40 years.
What does the future hold for this iconic Ford? Well, going by the norm, it will be going electric via the F-150 Lightning.
