Ford may release Bronco in this spring

KUALA LUMPUR: After years of speculations and rumors, the revamped version of the iconic Ford Bronco is about to hit the showrooms. Last year in November, Ford officially confirmed that the SUV’s debut would take place in spring 2020. Well, spring is here, and all the production plants of North America have temporarily shut down to control the spread of coronavirus. But despite the closure of factories, it seems that Bronco debut is still on for this spring.

Earlier, the off-roader was supposed to be unveiled at the 2020 New York International Auto Show, but after the postponement of the event, the official reveal becomes hazy again.

Ford Bronco

The Bronco SUV was initially debuted in 1965. In such a long time, it has gone through five generations and uncountable updates. It comes in two body styles - two-door and four-door. The boxy-framework, off-roading potential, and retro-design language made the SUV popular among the people. The popularity of this beast can be observed from a recent survey conducted by Partcatelog.com, which mentioned the Ford Bronco as the most trending car in the US, according to Google search.

The latest iteration of the SUV will also have both two-door and four-door configurations. It will also feature a detachable roof section, which means the roof can be detached from various anchor points to have a broad and open-air driving experience. The feature is also available in Jeep Wrangler, which is considered as its strong competitor.

Under the skin, the 2021 Ford Bronco 4X4 will have a 2.7-litre V6 petrol engine adopted from Ford F-150. The duties of sending power to the wheels will be carried out by a 10-speed automatic transmission. The said engine is capable of producing 300 PS of power under the F-150 structure.

Ford has also stated the arrival of the Baby Bronco, though no official date of its release has declared yet.

So, as of now, all the manufacturing units are closed, and there is no update about their re-opening, which somewhere hints that SUV release may have a slight delay.
