The exterior boasts a robust design philosophy with a similar body-on-frame construction as earlier.
The SUV features a bolder front fascia with a sizable front grille and round headlights. The short front and rear overhangs, along with an extended wheelbase, position it as a projected mid-to-large SUV. The generous window space past the C-pillar maintains a neat look, and at the rear, we can find a side-opening tailgate and a square-shaped spare tyre carrier.
Inside the second-generation Haval H9 lies a large floating central console screen and a redesigned steering wheel. The design of the new gear shifter is in line with the other new models of the brand. The SUV is also likely to get several advanced tech bits such as a 12.3-inch digital driver display, 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment units, Apple CarPlay and Android Auto connectivity, and a 10-speaker sound system.
While the automaker is yet to spill the beans on the new Haval H9 engine specifications, the customers are expected to get two choices viz. a 2.0T petrol engine and a 2.4T diesel engine; both paired with 8-speed and 9-speed automatic transmissions. As for reference, the ongoing model runs on a 2.0-litre turbocharged mill good for making 165 kW of power and 385 Nm of torque. The power is sent to the wheels via an 8-speed automatic transmission.
Further, the upcoming Haval H9 promises better off-road handling as it is reportedly equipped with a new all-terrain control system with several modes, front and rear differential locks, off-road cruise control, and TAB tank turning.
The new GWM Haval H9 will make its global debut at the Beijing Motor Show 2024, set to be held in April. Following that, it will enter into production in China. The SUV is likely to hit specific export markets in August 2024 as it is a key model in GWM Haval’s export-market plans that lock horns with the Ford Everest and Isuzu MU-X.
