FMCO Update: Honda showroom closed until June 14, after-sales available

KUALA  LUMPUR: PM recently announced a nationwide full lockdown from June 1 to June 14 in order to curb the rising number of Covid-19 cases. During this full-movement control order, all sectors are not permitted to operate with a few exceptions of essential services. Now, the question arises how did the local automobile industry react to the order?

Well, we can’t say for all but Honda Malaysia is among the first to clarify its operation limit during the FMCO. The automaker has said that its business operations at its plant in Pegoh, Melaka, sales offices, and dealerships nationwide will remain closed until June 14. However, the automaker will continue to provide after-sales services as it is allowed during the lockdown.

Honda is encouraging the owners to use the Honda Touch application that will make booking an appointment much easier. However, one can always opt for the conventional phoning method.

Here are a few points that Honda Malaysia wants the owners to adhere -

  • All customers must book an appointment beforehand, no walk-ins to be entertained
  • Customers must book a slot at the nearest dealership (within 10 km range from home)

What all service options are available?

Well, besides the preventive maintenance, other after-sales services like towing assistance and body paint are currently available.

Interested customers can make use of the company’s new online car pre-booking service that is a more convenient way for customers to pre-book their preferred Honda with a minimum fee of just RM 99. The service is easily accessible via the Honda Malaysia website. However, vehicle registration would not be possible as road transportation department (JPJ) offices are closed as well.

On the bright side, the government has exceeded the SST exemption period till the end of the year. Meaning the buyers can take advantage of the amazing tax savings.
