First Lotus store opens in Kuala Lumpur, second planned for Selangor in Q2 2024

KUALA LUMPUR: The official importer and distributor of Lotus cars in Malaysia, Lotus Cars Malaysia, has opened its first store in the country. Located at Pavilion Damansara Heights in Kuala Lumpur, the outlet represents a significant milestone in the growth strategy of the British automotive brand.

Key highlights of the new Lotus Store are as follows - 

• Spanning 1,750 square feet, the outlet is home to the Eletre and Emira sports cars, providing customers with the opportunity to experience these iconic models up close
• The store houses a configurator room, where customers can personalize various aspects of their vehicle, ranging from exterior features like trim, paint color, and wheels to interior elements such as materials and equipment packs
• There is also an impressive 8.4 square meter high-resolution LED display near the entrance, enhancing the overall brand experience

• An exclusive section within the store is dedicated to Lotus merchandise and apparel, offering enthusiasts a wide range of products to choose from
• Additionally, the store also features a comfortable lounge area where customers can relax and engage with the Lotus brand

The new Lotus store is the first of its kind in the country that opened less than a year after the debut of the fully electric Lotus Eletre in April of last year. The company has delivered 50 units of the EV as of this month, with another 200 units set to arrive shortly, showcasing its strong demand. Following the store opening in Pavilion Damansara Heights, Lotus is set to open its flagship showroom in Glenmarie, Selangor, in the second quarter of this year.

During the opening ceremony, Jack Zaal, General Manager Lotus Cars Malaysia, expressed his excitement about the brand's expansion. He stated, “The new era for Lotus Cars Malaysia began in 2018 with the establishment of a full-fledged after sales service outlet in Shah Alam, but as you can see with the time taken to open the new Lotus Store, our growth and brand presence has been a gradual but methodical approach.”

“Here, the process of reintroducing the brand not only involved reassuring existing Lotus customers that we are here to care for their needs, but it was also paramount to have them and new potential customers accept, understand and embrace the new Lotus philosophy and global direction to build premium and top tier vehicles without having to compromise on the Lotus ideals, namely the pure enjoyment of driving.”

“The overwhelming acceptance from customers and well-timed release of the Eletre – advantaged by Malaysia's push towards vehicle electrification – has proven to become a pivotal launching pad for the rejuvenated Lotus brand in Malaysia.
