First DS Automobiles store opens in Malaysia
KUALA LUMPUR: DS Automobiles, the premium marque of the Groupe PSA brand, has opened its first store in Petaling Jaya. Marking the company’s official entrance in the Malaysian market. This new outlet will be the only distributor for DS cars in the country. It is operated by Naza Euro Motors and is thus located within the premises of the Naza Automall.
The Petaling Jaya outlet is structured in-line with DS Automobiles’ practice of designing its global stores. It is the company’s first such establishment in Southeast Asia. The store includes DS models showcased on the floor, along with the option for customers to configure and personalise their own car with the help of a DS Advisor.
The outlet even gets DS Virtual Vision Virtual Reality Setup that allows customers to have a virtual look at their configured models and thus finalise their requirements with ease. Such virtual reality systems become important for premium cars that have a wide variety of options, all of which can’t be displayed on the showroom floor.
With the Malaysia outlet now functional, DS automobiles now have 450 DS stores across the world, while the company has set sights on reaching 1,000 in the near future. The Petaling Jaya DS store has a floor space of 3,230 sq ft, which is enough for comfortably accommodating three display vehicles at a time. It is a 3S (sales, service and spares) outlet, and will thus take care of al ownership needs of DS customers in Malaysia.
Reports suggest that the DS store in Malaysia has cost the company, RM 2 million. Additionally, the company has already earmarked RM 5 million for the next year, which will primarily be used for marketing and operations related to the DS cars in Malaysia.
