Facelifted Mazda BT-50 to Roll Out Soon in Thailand and Australia
KUALA LUMPUR: The facelift version for Mazda BT-50 is set to roll out soon which would be up for sale in Thailand as well as in Australia. The production for the same has started yesterday (13 July 2015) at Mazda's manufacturing plant in a city of Thailand named Rayong. Although, its technical specifications are still vague, as no official announcement has been made yet. But, it is expected to come up with the same particulars as earlier.
This utility vehicle is currently on offer in two diesel trims, 2.2-litre and 3.2-litre. The former is capable of generating 148 hp at 3,700 rpm and a torque of 375 Nm from 1,500 to 2,500 rpm in presence of four cylinders, while the 3.2-litre turbo diesel engine variant is accompanied with five inline cylinders is powerful enough to yield a maximum power output of 198 hp at 3,000 rpm and a torque of 470 Nm from 1,750 to 2,500 rpm. Both the above engines are mated to a six-speed transmission system.
With the release of front images of the facelifted version of Mazda BT-50, it is clear that the front fascia gets a new look with sleek design, refreshed grille and a new set of either 16 or 17 inch aluminium wheels. There haven't been any pictures revealed of the rear part, but it is expected to have a new pair of tail lamps amalgamated with LEDs and bulbs.
Talking about its features, it is likely to receive a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system, a reverse camera and Mazda's MZD Connect System which would be integrated with the utility vehicle for the first time.
