E-Legend EL1 pays tribute to the iconic Audi Quattro

KUALA LUMPUR: Introduced in 1980, the iconic Audi Quattro is the world’s first rally car that adopted four-wheel drive in Auto racing. It also recorded consecutive wins for the two years in the racing world. Paying homage to this legendary Audi is the all-new E-Legend EL1 performance electric car, manufactured by a German automaker E-Legend.

The EL1 gets the power from three electric motors, one is positioned at the front axle while the other two are placed at the rear. The motors combinedly churn out a maximum power of 816 PS. The e-motors are mated to a 90 kWh battery pack that utilized the 800-volt technology, just like the Porsche Taycan. According to the automaker, the battery is enough to provide a run of 500 km to the electric car, thus it can complete two laps of the Nurburgring when driven in Sport Plus mode.

Performance-wise, the 2021 E-Legend EL1 EV can run from naught to 100 kmph in just 2.8 seconds, and to cover 200 kmph it takes less than 10 seconds. The top speed is rated at 255 kmph. For better handling, the setup gets electric torque vectoring and a three-way adjustable suspension system.

Talking about the EL1 design, the EV boasts a retro-look with the identical proportions of the Audi Quattro. It features a bulging bonnet, prominent headlights, front and rear LED daytime running lamps, a black trim piece, and wing at the rear, 19-inch front alloy wheels, and larger 20-inch rear units. The EV tips the scales at 1680 kg with carbon-fibre reinforced polymer materials inside and out.

The notable highlights inside the cabin include a digital instrument cluster, advanced infotainment system, climate control, rear-view camera, and a parking assistance system. As for safety, airbags, ABS, ESP, and traction control are available as standard.

The E-Legend will make just 30 examples of the EL1, priced at around £762,000 (approximately equal to RM 4,381,236) before taxes in the UK market.
