DS Aero Sport Lounge EV is the new French masterpiece

KUALA LUMPUR: When the rest of the world was just overcoming Monday blues, DS automobiles has a strong start to the week and made heads turn with its newest offering. Just a day after revealing the DS 9 sedan, the French automaker has now unveiled a strikingly new concept of sustainable electric luxury concept- the Aero Sport Lounge. This new electric crossover is chic in every sense. DS's vision for its new Aero Sport Lounge concept model seeks to focus on three main principles: performance, efficiency, and sustainability.

DS automobiles hail the new concept car as "a prelude to our next creations" and "a manifesto intended to illustrate the word ‘sustainable”. Doing complete justice to the claims made by the automaker, the concept combines a familiar packaging for future electric crossovers. The cockpit is full of tweaks and noteworthy sustainable materials and marks the rudiment of human-machine interface technology.

New Aero Sport Lounge shares very minimalistic designing cues from its current lineage and rather has come up with very impressive styling of the exterior as well interior.

Undoubtedly, DS has preserved this new concept to be unveiled at the Geneva Motor Show and on its cancellation, the automaker released a video of its offering. It is evident from the video that the new concept carries a contemporary appeal and has been very radically designed. The sleek design catches all our attention and its sheer size further makes it very appealing.

On the face of the car, the front grille has been squared off which is characterized by sharp thin lines which land on the DS logo. The badge is surrounded by a black screen with contrasting white feathery lines to make it all the more inviting. Headlights are narrow and the vertical daytime running lights are slim at the front edges. The two-tone silver and black hood are highlighted with a narrow silver stripe.

Most prominent innovation perhaps is the infotainment system, which is not a screen anymore but is a projector with satin/cotton strip running across the dashboard. A head-up display replaces the instrument panel and hand gestures control all of it, which is one of its kind. The steering wheel is a horse-shoe shape and you will spot no buttons and screens except for the indication on the left side where the driver is seated.

New concept car rides on huge 23-inch wheels featuring a detailed aerodynamically optimized design, the DS Aero Sport Lounge has a heavily sloped roofline, giving the sensation of a coupe-like shape.
Underneath the attractive styling, designers have installed the electric motor which capacitates to develop a whopping 671 horsepower to enable a 0 to 62 mph (100 km/h) spark time in just 2.8 seconds. The electric motor feeds on a large 110-kWh battery placed in the floor and with enough potent extract to serve an impressive range of more than 400 miles.

We are not even wondering the price range of this beautiful blend of luxury and sustainability.
