It was back in 2020 that Toyota introduced the Corolla Cross and now after four long years has arrived the facelift version. Like the previous-gen model, the 2024 Toyota Corolla Cross also chose Thailand for its global debut. The premiere location is any but the best part is the Toyota SUV is scheduled to arrive in Malaysia anytime this year!

2024 Toyota Corolla Cross: Engine

The ICE-powered Corolla Cross variant features a 1,798 cc 4-cylinder in-line DOHC 16 valve with dual VVT-i unit making a maximum power output of 140 PS at 6,000 rpm along with a peak torque of 177 Nm at 4,000 rpm. Power is sent to the wheels via a super CVT-i 7-speed with sequential shift transmission.

The hybrid variants feature the same engine mentioned above but it is paired with a synchronous motor making 53 kW and 163 Nm and a nickel-metal hybrid battery. Combined power output rests at 122 PS. The power is transferred to the wheels via an E-CVT unit.

The new Corolla Cross benefits from several visual updates which bring the popular Asian-market SUV closer to the Corolla Cross sold in the international markets. For instance, the car now features redesigned full-LED headlights as seen on the European and Japanese market units.

The car’s front fascia features a slim upper grille on top of the honeycomb perforations. Also, part of the setup is a new headlamp design with sequential indicators. Other interesting bits include -
