China gets a futuristic electric MPV, the Zeekr Mix

KUALA LUMPUR: Zeekr has launched a futuristic and luxurious electric minivan in China, called Mix. It is the first production model based on Geely's SEA-M variant of the Sustainable Experience Architecture, designed for MPVs and robotaxis.

The key highlights of the Zeekr Mix are as follows - 

Dimensions 

The Zeekr Mix measures 4,688 mm in length,  1,995 mm in width, 1,775 mm in height, and spans a massive wheelbase of 3,008 mm. The boot capacity measures 568-litre, which is expandable up to over 2,000 litres with the rear seats folded down.

Exterior 

The MPV boasts a "capsule-shaped" design inspired by the Tiangong space station, offering it a sleek shape and a curved roof with a large glass panel. It features a striking Stargate light curtain, which is 95 inches wide and made up of over 1,960 LEDs, which can display messages through a "magic canvas" function.

As for entry and exit, the EV has unique double sliding doors that open wide at 58.3 inches, and instead of a traditional B-pillar, the doors include two strong steel pillars for added support. Other key exterior highlights include flush door handles, a hidden rear wiper, and 19- or 20-inch wheels.

Interior

Inside, the Zeekr Mix is equipped with a unique dashboard incorporating a 13-inch curved instrument display and a floating 15-inch infotainment touchscreen. The front seats of the MPV can rotate 180 degrees to face the back or 90 degrees to look out the side doors.

The console box provided between the front seats can slide back and forth and includes an armrest and a fridge for backseat passengers. The rear seats are power-adjustable and come with heating, ventilation, and massage functions along with ottomans and a footrest.

Also part of the kit is a 21-speaker audio system, a 50w wireless smartphone charger, and a fragrance system. 

Range

The Zeekr Mix comes in two different battery packs - a 76 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate and a 102 kWh nickel manganese cobalt battery pack, offering a CLTC range of 550 km and 700 km, respectively. Both are mated to a rear-mounted electric motor tuned to deliver a maximum power of 421 PS and a peak torque of 440 Nm.

Safety

The Zeekr MPV comes with a lidar sensor at the top of the windshield, paired with dual Nvidia Drive Orin-X processors for driver assistance features. Also, available as an option is Navigation Zeekr Pilot (NZP), which enables hands-free driving on highways.

Price

The Zeekr Mix price begins at CNY 279,900 (approx RM 171k) in China. 

As Zeekr prepares to launch in Malaysia, this futuristic MPV could potentially join the local lineup sometime in the future.
