Chevy teases 2022 Bolt EUV interior

KUALA LUMPUR: Chevrolet has once again teased its upcoming Bolt EUV, the high-riding mate of the refreshed Bolt that is also due for arrival. Both the models are built on GM's BEV2 electric vehicle platform and will enter production in the summer of 2021.

Chevy has already shown us the two Bolt's exterior though a bit dark, but we have a fair idea of their respective silhouettes. However, today the limelight is fully on the Bolt EUV, where 'EUV' stands for electric utility vehicle.

Recently, Chevy posted a teaser video of Bolt EUV interior on its Twitter handle, Chevy Electric. The nine-second video focuses on Super Cruise driver assistance feature, Power Flow Screen, and dashboard/infotainment system layout.

The Bolt EUV will be the first Chevy car and the first electric vehicle to benefit from Cadillac's Super Cruise hands-free driver-assist technology. Launched in 2017 on the CT6, Cadillac recently announced that the said system will be available as an option in 22 vehicles by 2023 - 7 getting it in 2021, and 12 in 2022 & 2023. The Super Cruise is a true hands-free system that uses an in-car monitoring system, HD maps, and sensors watching the road. The former makes sure the driver is paying attention to the road.

The layout of the infotainment system in Bolt EUV is different from that seen in the ongoing model. This one comes with minimalistic on-screen controls, for example, the large green band for Energy in current Bolt display is replaced by a single leaf.

The climate controls on the Chevy EUV have shrunk considerably and are placed on the same angled plan as the display.

Further, the white and dark grey colour seen on the dash and controls of the current Bolt is replaced by a more subdued darker tone. The instrument panel, though visible in the video, showcases a darker tone as well.
