Chevy Corvette C8 gets a new ‘once-exclusive' hue
KUALA LUMPUR: The year 2020 has been difficult for the auto industry globally and even the American brands weren’t immune to the pandemic effect. The famous American trio has seen some pretty dark times with sales hitting rock bottom. However, amongst all, it’s the Chevy Camaro that has faced the maximum heat of the pandemic. Its sales tanked to almost 40 percent, it sold 29,775 units. Let’s hope that the year 2021 brings in better sales for the Camaro, however the year 2022 would definitely be bule for the car - if not for two, for one reason definitely.
The Chevy Camaro is getting a new colour tone that was once exclusive to the new Corvette C8. This information was revealed by the automaker while announcing the three models that’ll enter this year’s Daytona 500. Included in the list are - Silverado, Camaro, and Corvette, all of which will be sprayed in Rapid Blue hue complimented by black-and-red livery. Out of the three, only the 2022 Camaro will be available in the exclusive Rapid Blue tone, if would be optional but it's unclear whether or not it’ll require a premium price.
Wanna see the Camaro in the exclusive Blue tone, will your wait is soon going to end with the Daytona 500 weekend of racing events commencing from Feb 14th. While the Camaro is participating in the Xfinity Series race, the Corvette gets to steal the limelight on Sunday.
On a slightly related note, the Camaro’s new hue doesn’t seem to go along with its discontinuation rumors. As per a recent report, the Camaro will reach the end of the tunnel by 2026, earlier reports claimed 2023 as its last year. However, we haven’t received any confirmation from GM about Camaro’s life cycle.
While the Camaro’s sales figures are going downhill, we aren’t sure how much the new colour tone would help to better its performance.
