Chery opens doors to its largest 4S centre in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: After launching its 4S showroom in the East Coast earlier this month, Chery Malaysia has now opened the doors to its largest 4S centre in the country. Operated by Gagner Auto Sdn Bhd, the new Chery facility is located in the vibrant city of Medini, Johor Bahru.

This momentous occasion was graced by the presence of several esteemed guests, including Yang Mulia Tunku Abu Bakar Ibni Al-Marhum Tunku Abdul Rahman Bendahara, Yang Mulia Tunku Abdul Samad Bin Tunku Mohd Archibald, Mr. Leo Chen, and Mr. Kuek Ser Kee.

The new Chery 4S centre is furnished with cutting-edge facilities, ensuring a comprehensive range of services for customers. The centre not only caters to vehicle sales but also encompasses top-tier services such as maintenance, spare parts provision, and body and paint services. In short, it covers all aspects of the customers’ automotive needs under one roof for a seamless experience.

Chery Malaysia also previewed the upcoming Omoda E5 EV at the opening ceremony of the new showroom. YM Tunku Abu Bakar and YM Tunku Abdul Samad personally explored the advanced features of the EV and emphasised the value of embracing sustainable and environmentally conscious modes of transportation.

Expected to launch in Malaysia in 2024, the Omoda E5 EV is the all-electric version of the Omoda 5. The key highlights of the upcoming Chery EV are - 

• The EV is powered by a front-mounted electric motor, which is good for making 204 PS of maximum power. The motor is hooked with a 61 kWh blade LFP battery pack providing a WLTP-claimed driving range of 430 km
• As for charging, the battery takes only 30 minutes for 30 to 80% charge when using an 80 kW DC fast charger
• In terms of features, the EV is likely to get 18-inch aerodynamic-focused wheels, a 12.3-inch digital instrument cluster, a 12.3-inch touchscreen infotainment system, one-pedal driving, keyless entry and automatic start system, “ADAS 2.5” advanced driver assistance kit, and Vehicle-to-Load (V2L) functionality
• Once launched, the Chery Omada E5 will compete against the BYD Atto 3, GWM Ora Good Cat, Hyundai Kona Electric, and Kia Niro
