KUALA LUMPUR: The French automaker Alpine previously announced its plan to go fully electric, however, before that happens it has given an update to the up and running A110. Yes, the internal combustion engine (ICE) powered car is revised with new variants, enhanced performance, and high-tech features. The new Alpine A110 retails for - Base Alpine A110 59,500 euros (RM 281,210) Alpine A110 GT 69,500 euros (RM 328,472) Alpine A110 S 71,500 euros (RM 337,924).The previous-gen A110 was available in three trim levels - Pure, Legende, and S. The former two variants have been replaced by the base variant being called the A110, and GT, respectively. The A110S flagship model keeps its name as before.
The A110 is powered by a 1.8-litre 4-cylinder turbocharged petrol engine from Renault Megane RS. The mill pumps out a maximum output of 252 PS at 6,000 rpm along with a peak torque of 320 Nm from 2,000 to 4,800 rpm. The range-topping GT variant, on the other hand, is powered by a 1.8-litre turbo engine that makes 300 PS and 340 Nm of torque. The power is sent to the rear wheels in all variants via a 7-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
On the performance side, the base A110 and GT variants hit a top speed of 250 kmph and hit the 100 kmph mark in 4.5 and 4.2 seconds, respectively. As for the flagship S model, it completes the century sprint in 4.2 seconds and can attain a top speed of 260 kmph (275 kmph with optional Aero Kit).
The Alpine A110 S model also benefits from - sport-tuned chassis and suspension, a sports exhaust, 18-inch wheels with wide tyres (215/40 front & 245/40 rear), and Brembo braking system.
The base variant gets 17-inches and GT 18-inch alloys but with less wide tyres.
New Alpine A110 standard revision includes a new infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto support. The touchscreen display’s measurement remains the same at 7-inches. As per the automaker, the system can be updated later via an over-the-air update to support Wi-Fi connectivity.
