Check out the not for sale Honda Civic Type R Mugen

KUALA LUMPUR: Honda Malaysia recently introduced the Civic Type R Mugen Concept in the local market. And as the name suggests, the car is still in concept form and is not up for sale. We tried asking when it would be up for grabs, but all efforts were in vain as there is no official statement yet.

The Mugen Concept is nothing but an extensive styling kit that comprises of many enhancing elements like carbon-fibre radiator grille with Mugen badge, carbon-fibre side mirror caps, aggressive front bumper with raised fins on the lower lip, 20-inch dual-tone multispoke wheels, and more prominent side skirts.

At the rear, the concept retains the aero fins and rear spoiler of the standard model. However, the rear bumper (with aggressive diffuser) and tail lights have been entirety revised by new Mugen units.

On the inside, the Civic Type R Mugen concept features a sporty cabin with the steering wheel dressed in carbon-fibre trim, red sports bucket seats, and leather-wrapped gear knob.

The idea was to showcase the Civic Type R with aesthetic enhancements, and Honda didn’t mention any technical changes. Meaning, that like the standard model the concept also houses a 2.0-litre VTEC turbo unit putting out 320 PS and 400 Nm.
