KUALA LUMPUR: After a long wait, Perodua has introduced a new Elegant Black edition for its popular SUV, the Aruz. The new colour adds a touch of sophistication to the seven-seater car and is available as an option across all the variants.

Note, that the new exterior hue replaces the Passion Red tone and joins the rest of the colour palette which includes -

• Ivory White
• Glittering Silver
• Granite Grey
• Electric Blue
• Garnet Red

No doubt the Elegant Black edition brings a fresh, understated look to the Aruz lineup. Everything else remains the same, the same core features and specifications that have made the SUV a top choice in Malaysia.

Both the X and AV variants continue to be powered by a 1.5-litre naturally aspirated four-cyl engine making a maximum power output of 102 PS and a peak torque of 133 Nm. The engine is paired with a 4-speed automatic transmission, offering a fuel-efficiency of 15.6 kmpl.

On the outside, the Aruz sports 17-inch alloy wheels, LED headlamps, and LED combination tail lamps giving it a modern and stylish look. The cabin is no less and remain comfortable and functional, all thanks to features like -

• Keyless entry and engine start
• Built-in toll reader
• Manual air-conditioning with digital controls and rear vents
• Seven-inch touchscreen infotainment system
• Six speaker-audio
• Two USB ports

In terms of safety, the Perodua Aruz AV comes equipped with the Advanced Safety Assist (ASA) 2.0 system which includes vital features like pre-collision braking, front departure alert, and pedal misoperation control, making it a solid choice for safety-conscious buyers. As for Aruz's price, it remains unchanged despite the introduction of the new color. The 1.5 X variant is priced at RM 72,900, while the 1.5 AV comes in at RM 77,900. Both models are available with a five-year/150,000 km warranty, providing peace of mind for buyers.
