Check out the all-new Ford Bronco 4600 race truck
KUALA LUMPUR: A new race truck will participate in this year's Ultra4 stock class, it's none other than a new entry by Ford Performance - the Bronco 4600. Unlike the Broco Ultra4 4400 unlimited class machine, this one is a production car and will be sold in showrooms.
Ford SUV Marketing Manager, Dave Rivers said, "Innovating the off-road landscape and competing with Bronco’s higher-speed off-road abilities have always been at the core of Bronco brand’s heritage. Our new Bronco 4600 racers underscore our motorsports heritage and how the all-new 2021 Bronco can be tuned from the showroom floor to compete in the gruelling Ultra4 stock class series."

The new Bronco benefits from a 2021 Bronco two-door with Sasquatch Package. It is powered by a 2.7=litre EcoBoost V6 twin-turbo mill that is paired to SelectShift 10-speed automatic gearbox. Furthermore, it sits on a second-gen T-6 chassis which is suitable for ever-growing Ford Performance parts and Ford Licensed Accessories kit.
New Ford Bronco 4600 race truck braking & suspension
Helping the beast stop are Wilwood Engineering units. As for suspension, Ford Performance has fitted the Bronco 4600 with a competition-tuned High-Performance Off-Road Stability Suspension System that features Fox pneumatic bump stops and Fox coilover shocks with remote reservoirs at each corner.
New Ford Bronco 4600 design
The front looks heavily inspired by the 19969 Baja 100-winning Bronco. Other attractive bits include a matte black hood, white & red lower body lines, white Bronco logo on the hood with the letter 'R' on the grille sprayed in red tone.
Ford Performance Motorsports Global Director, Mark Rushbrook, said, "Bronco 4600 underscores how ready the all-new Bronco is for competition and how Ford Performance is committed to driving the brand’s success across multiple off-road series. We look forward to off-road racing teams coming to this platform and to Ford Performance stepping up to continuously enhance the state of the art in off-road racing for them.”
The new race truck features front and rear modular bumpers made of steel. It also gets Warn Zeon winch and the rigid LED off-road lights enhance night vision. It runs on 35-inch BFGoodrich mud-terrain T/A KM3 tyres wrapped in Method Race Wheels 202 Forged Beadlock units.
Ford Performance has also fitted the Bronco 4600 with first-ever FIA off-road-certified race shells and a custom roll cage from Geiser Brothers is also part of the list.
The most attractive part however is the race trucks 'war paint'. Ford Performance is offering the 2021 Bronco in three colour tons - Velocity Blue, Race Red, and Oxford White.
Impressive, isn't it? Bronco 4600's testing will commence later this month before representing the automaker in Ultar4.
