Check out Honda N7X Concept, production model coming soon
KUALA LUMPUR: Honda has finally revealed the mysterious vehicle it was teasing for a while. To everyone’s surprise, it is a concept and not a new/revised model. Called the N7X Concept, the abbreviation stands for ‘New 7-Seater eXcitement’ and is designed by Honda R&D Asia Pacific.
It seems like that through the N7X Concept, the automaker is previewing a seven-seater model. So, can this concept be the base for the upcoming BR-V, the nameplate that arrived more than 5 years ago? Only time will tell.
So, what does the Honda N7X Concept have in stock?
On the design front, the N7X Concept looks quite distinct from the BR-V, it rather seems to be inspired by the recently revealed Odyssey facelift. At the front, it gets a massive grille with several horizontal slats and a large chrome bar above. Joining the setup are sleek, sharp headlights with L-shaped DRLs. Go a bit lower, and you’ll see LED position lights above the fog lamp casing. The angular U-shaped trim piece very well shapes the lower intake. Further, the bonnet is sturdier than that of the ongoing BR-V.
The side profile of the concept showcases a cleaner look cutting down on the crease line usually seen. There is just one signal strong character line running across the car’s length.
The window like so smooth and black body cladding over the wheels do not intrude into the bodywork above. Also part of the kit is better positioned ORVMs for better visibility and stylish rocker panels.
The rear showcases a cleaner look. The wraparound tail lamps feature City-like graphics, look sleek and are positioned far away from the tailgate window.
Though Honda didn’t show the car’s cabin, we got a glimpse of the same from its introductory video. At a glance, it seemed like a revised version of second-gen Amaze with centre air-vents placed above the heat unit.
Also part of the interior is a cleaner dash, touch screen head unit, rectangular air vents, new steering wheel, raised centre console, and HVAC controls.
So, what are your thoughts on the latest Honda Concept? Do you think in the future it’ll come as an improved BR-V version?
