Check out Audi e-tron GT prototype, may enter production soon
KUALA LUMPUR: Audi is working on several electric cars that are scheduled for global debut in the upcoming years. One of the most anticipated models being the super stylish e-tron GT. Don’t you remember? Well, it is the same car whose concept version made an appearance on the big screen, Tony Stark drove it in Avengers: Endgame.
We are hoping to see the final production version soon once the electric tourer makes its global debut. For the time being, you can check out the short spy video that’s doing rounds on the internet. In the said video, the electric Audi is entirely camouflage and is undergoing testing under extreme cold weather conditions.
The Audi e-tron prototype in the video looks similar to the concept revealed in 2018. A few apparent changes that one could notice are - functional mirrors together with standard door handles, a less aggressive front fascia with fewer bumper vents that might be hidden under the camouflage wrap. However, the rear is identical to the concept with all the camo in place.
By the looks of it, the car appears like a proper grand tourer with a massive powertrain, but it is an all-electric vehicle. The automaker has not revealed the power output the production version will have. Even the engine details are under wrap. However, for reference, the automaker claimed that the concept could tap 590 PS via its two electric motors. It also envisioned a 90kWh lithium-ion battery that would give the car a range of 400 km (based on the WLPT standard). We expect the production model to showcase similar performance figures.
There’s no official word from Audi as to when the production model of e-tron GT arrives. However, seeing the prototype in the video, it seems to be nearly ready for production.
