Catch the Volkswagen ID.4 EV preview at the 2022 Volkswagen Fest

KUALA LUMPUR: After two years, VPCM is set to organise the ​bigger and more exciting Volkswagen Fest on the 15th and 16th of October, 2022. While the event will have a stellar lineup of activities for different sorts of Volkswagen fans, the key attraction of the show would be the Volkswagen ID.4 electric SUV. Yes, that’s right, the German auto giant will be officially showcasing the EV during the festival.

The ID.4 will be the brand’s first pure-electric model in Malaysia that will rival the likes of the Hyundai Ioniq 5, Kia EV6, Mazda MX-30, and Volvo XC40 Recharge. Here’s a quick brief on the upcoming Volkswagen ID.4 -

• The EV measures 4,584 mm in length, 1,852 mm in width, 1,636 mm in height, and spans a wheelbase of 2,765 mm
• It comes in two battery options in the global market - 52 kWh and 77 kWh

• The former offers a WLTP-claimed range of 346 km driving range with the electric motor generating between 148 PS and 170 PS of maximum power
• The 77-kWh variant, on the other hand, can run for 522 km on a single charge with 204 PS output levels
• Performance-wise, the higher capacity version runs from zero to 100 kmph in 8.5 seconds with a top speed of 160 kmph
• Equipment kit comprises LED lights all around, 19-inch aluminium alloys, 10-inch infotainment unit, dual-zone climate control, auto-dimming rearview mirror, keyless access, power tailgate, Apple CarPlay, and more

Other than the sneak preview of the electric ID.4, the 2022 Volkswagen Fest will have the following attractions -

• A myriad of classic Volkswagens on display
• A range of live performances ranging from a battle of the bands to freestyle football displays 
• Volkswagen Driving Academy for juniors who want their very first driver's licence
• Test driving for the latest Volkswagen models, including sleek and powerful Arteon, hottest hatch Golf, and #SUVW Tiguan family.
