BYD Malaysia surprises with enhanced 2024 Atto 3 during Seal Dynamic launch - Faster acceleration/DCcharging, better range,RM150k

KUALA LUMPUR: At the highly anticipated launch of the BYD Seal Dynamic variant today, BYD took the opportunity to unveil a surprise upgrade to its 2024 BYD Atto 3, significantly boosting its appeal in the Malaysian EV market.

While the Atto 3 had already made waves earlier this year in Malaysia with a new 2024 model, BYD felt it necessary to deliver an even better package, enhancing several key areas such as battery performance, acceleration, and styling. 

The updated Atto 3 now boasts an extended driving range of up to 480 km, up from its previous 410 km, thanks to a larger 60.48 kWh battery, replacing the 49.92 kWh unit. Performance has also seen an improvement, with the SUV now accelerating from 0 to 100 km/h in just 7.3 seconds, compared to the previous 7.9 seconds.

Other enhancements include a tyre size upgrade to 18 inches, up from 17 inches, and a faster 88 kW DC charging capability (from 70 kW), allowing for more efficient charging sessions. On the convenience front, the Atto 3 now features a one-touch open tailgate, enhancing practicality for everyday use.

Inside the cabin, the sound system has been upgraded with 8 speakers (previously 6), and the door handle ambient lighting now offers a multi-colour gradient synced with music, a step up from the previous single-colour gradient.

Despite these upgrades, some fan-favourite features such as the 15.6-inch rotatable infotainment screen remain unchanged. Priced at RM149,800, this enhanced version will now be the only variant of the Atto 3 available for purchase in Malaysia.

With these new specs, BYD has positioned the Atto 3 as an even more compelling option for EV enthusiasts seeking a balance between performance, range, and value.

Safety and convenience features such as Automatic Emergency Braking, Front and Rear Collision Warning, Blind Spot Monitoring and Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop and Go remains. 

As usual, the vehicle comes with a comprehensive warranty package that includes a 6-year or 150,000km vehicle warranty, an 8-year or 160,000km battery warranty, and an 8-year or 150,000km drive unit warranty.
