BYD Atto 3 Standard Range announced; check details
KUALA LUMPUR: The Chinese automaker, BYD will soon enter the Malaysian market (before the end of this year) and its first few offerings will include the e6 and Atto 3 EVs. However, our neighbor, Thailand, is first on the receiving end with BYD earlier introducing the Atto 3 in Extended Range version and now in the Standard Range version as well.

Price
The Atto 3 Standard Range retails for 1,099,990 baht (approx. RM 140,921), thus making it 100,000 baht (RM 12,810) cheaper than the ongoing Extended Range model which is priced at 1,199,000 baht (RM 152,705).
BYD is also offering the EV with a Rever Care package which includes an 8-year/160,000 warranty for both car & battery and free maintenance as well. Also available is 24-hrs support and 8-year of zero-cost monitoring. Not to forget the one-year insurance and home charger for free.

Battery
While the Extended Range model packs a massive 60.48 kWh battery, the Standard Range model comes with a 49.9 kWh unit. The single e-motor generates a max power of 204 PS and a peak torque of 310 Nm.

The above-mentioned range is by NEDC, however, expect a more realistic range in mid 300s. As for performance, the base Atto 3 can accelerate from 0 to 100 kmph in just 7.3 seconds.
Charging
The Atto 3 Standard Range supports DC fast charging at up to 70 kW; for the Extended Range, it’s 80 kW.
Colour options
Unlike the Extended Range version which is offered in six colour tones, the base Standard Range model is offered in two hues namely Graphite Grey and Frost White.
BYD in Malaysia
As mentioned above, BYD SD Motors Malaysia, the official distributor of BDY cars in the country, will introduce the Atto 3 and e6 EVs in early December with deliveries beginning in Q1 of 2023.
