Booking starts for 2019 Mazda CX8 CKD in Malaysia

KUALA LUMPUR: The 2019 Mazda CX8 range which was earlier showcased at 2019 Malaysia Autoshow is now open for booking in the country.

At present, four variants of the car are available for booking. As per the official news, the assembly of the cars is done at the Kulim plant in Kedah. Upcoming Mazda CX-8 price is not announced yet, but it can be around 15% to 20% costlier than the CX-5 CKD.

The CX-8 CKD is powered by a dual-engine setup. There are three variants of the car - Mid 2.5L 2WD, Mid Plus 2.5L 2WD, and High of 2.5L 2WD. Two engines of the car produce 192 hp of maximum power at 6000 rpm and a peak torque of 258 Nm at 4000 rpm for all the above variants. The engine type differs in case of the top model of CX-8 CKD that is 2.2L AWD.

In Japan, the Mazda CX-8 CKD can be studded with a 2.5-litre petrol engine. The output of the petrol car is 228 hp with a torque of 420 Nm. The petrol-powered Mazda 2019 CX-8 CKD has a sports mode. Activation of the sports mode will help in producing quick power delivery.

All the variants can be combined with either an automatic or a manual six-speed gearbox. Features like i-Stop idling and GVC are also common in all the variants of 2019 CX-8.

There are some advanced safety features present in the car. These enhance complete security while driving. Six airbags, ABS and EBD systems ensure that the boarders stay completely safe inside the car. Other safety features of the vehicle are Traction Control System, Emergency Stop Signal, Dynamic Stability Control and Hill Launch Assist.

The Mazda CK-8 CKD is available in six different colours in the market. They are Sonic Blue, Jet Black, Deep Crystal Blue, Sonic Silver, Machine Grey, Soul Red Crystal.

Mazda offers a warranty of five years up to 100,000 Km for any manufacturing defects. The maintenance charges are also waived by Mazda for the first five years. Furthermore, as per the official news, the Mazda CX-8 CKD models will be exported to the Philippines and Thailand too.
