Booking open for the most advanced Perodua model, the D55L

KUALA LUMPUR: Perodua Malaysia lineup is getting a new vehicle for the year 2021. It’s the much-awaited model the D55L and the automaker has opened its ordering books for the same. Exciting, isn’t it?

Dato’ Zainal Abidin Ahmad, Perodua President and CEO said, “The Perodua D55L is the first model under the Perodua Smart Build blueprint, spearheading breakthroughs for Perodua in style, safety, technology, equipment levels, and value.”

Perodua D55L variant & price

The Perodua D55L will be offered in three variant options - X, H, and AV, and its estimated price range goes from RM 62,500 to RM 72,400 (on-the-road before insurance in Peninsular Malaysia). The price includes a 150,000 km or five-year warranty.

While the base X variant will come with LED headlamps, the rest will benefit from Adaptive Driving Beam. The H and AV trim will also come with a seven-inch TFT multi-info cluster and a nine-inch touchscreen infotainment unit with voice recognition.

All three variants of the Perodua D55L will benefit from Lane Departure Warning and Prevention system, while limited to the range-topping AV trim are Adaptive Cruise Control, Lane Keep Control, Rear Cross Traffic Alert, and Blind Spot Monitor.

The Advanced Safety Assist (ASA) feature is offered in all the D55L variants and compared to the previous version, the latest ASA offers higher operating speeds and is even capable of detecting two-wheelers.

All the features together make the D55L the first Perodua to satisfy Level 2 Autonomous Driving standards.

The D55L seems to be a very special model for Perodua as it has many first-time features. For instance, it is the first Perodua to benefit from a turbocharger, in-line with the global downsized forced-induction trend. It is also the first Perodua car to get a Continuously Variable Transmission, which contributes towards SUV's class-leading mileage of 18.9 kmpl.

• D55L X - Glittering Silver, Cobalt Blue, Granite Grey
• D55L H - Available in above three tones, plus in Pearl Diamond White and Pearl Delima Red
• D55L AV - Granite Grey, Pearl Diamond White, Glittering Silver, Pearl Dekima Red (the two Pearl options can be combined with a black roof)
