BMW enhances appeal of its entry-level models; introduces ‘Edition ColorVision’ versions
KUALA LUMPUR: Yes, you read it just right. BMW did the good job of enhancing two of its entry-level models, the 1 Series hatchback and 2 Series Gran Coupe sedan. Introduced under the special ‘Edition ColorVision’ tag, these special edition models feature some visual enhancements (inside and out) along with few additional equipment.
Let’s get to know the BMW 1 Series and 2 Series Edition ColorVision models in detail -
Paint finish
The Edition ColorVision models are offered in 50 striking hues, including the now revived iconic tones (Daytona Violet, Macao Blue, and Dakar Yellow) and tones from BMW Individual paint catalog (matte Frozen Pure Gray metallic).
Design enhancements
The BMW ‘Edition ColorVision’ front apron features a large, three-section lower air intake that instantly grabs attention. Other striking design elements include a dark diffuser, M High-gloss Shadowline, and rear apron with vertically arranged air outlets.
The special edition models stand on Y-spoke 18-inch M light-alloys in Black/Silver two-tone finish.
Cabin inclusions
The special edition theme is well-visible on the inside too with the M Sport seats wrapped in two-tone Dakota leather (Black/Magma or Black/White) with ‘Edition’ badge embroidered on the headrest. The Edition ColorVision models also get floor mats with bespoke piping, door sills with mesh look, and ambient lighting.
Other exclusive inclusions - M leather steering wheel, M driver’s footrest, M stainless steel pedals, and an anthracite-colored headliner.
Powertrain
BMW offers the Series 1 hatch and Series 2 Gran Coupe Edition ColorVision models with all its engine options, except the BMW 128ti.
Not to forget, customers can also order the ‘50 Jahre’ badges for the boot lid, bonnet, and wheel hubs at no additional cost. If you aren’t aware these emblems are part of the BMW M series 50th anniversary celebration.
So, as one can notice the BMW Series 1 hatchback and Series 2 Gran Coupe Edition ColorVision are based on their respective M Sport versions. And therefore, the focus is on aggressive styling and performance.
