Powertrain configuration
Powering the fastest Corvette is a 6.2-litre V8 engine generating a maximum power output of 495 hp along with a peak torque of 637 Nm. Part of the setup is also an electric motor at the front axle making an additional 160 hp and 165 Nm. The total output rests at 655 hp and 793 Nm.
The drive is sent to the wheels via an 8-speed dual-clutch gearbox.
Performance
The above-mentioned configuration allows the car to complete a century sprint in just 2.5 seconds. As for a quarter-liter drag, it takes the Corvette E-Ray just 10.5 seconds to complete the 400-metre stretch.
Driving modes
Chevrolet has equipped the car with seven driving modes for the driver to choose from. The list includes - Tour, Track, Sport, My Mode, Z-Mode, and Stealth modes.
Range
When driven in the Stealth Mode, the high-performance hybrid sports car can propel itself at up to 72 kmph, on nothing but electricity. However, the 160hp e-motor with its tiny 1.9 kWh battery pack won’t allow the car to go very far.
That said, the electric motor’s job here is to add to the vehicle’s stability and provide a little zest during hard acceleration.
