Audi A5 Sportback displayed in Malaysia; priced at around RM 340k

KUALA LUMPUR: The new Audi A5 has been previewed in Malaysia in the form of a five-door Sportback version. This second generation A5 is said to arrive in the Malaysian premium coupe market very soon. The Audi A5 five-door coupe will be only available in sport 2.0 TFSI Quattro trim.

The new Audi A5 gets a familiar design as earlier. It features svelte roofline and has a wavy shoulder line. The new additions to the car are trapezoidal headlights and taillights, flatter “single frame” grille, and a clamshell bonnet with twin strikes. Moreover, the vehicle gets full-LED headlights having two-pronged daytime running lights. The five-door coupe rides on the multi-spoke alloy wheels of 19-inch.

Inside the car, there are a lot of leather touches and the leatherette upholstery comes with black fabric headlining and Silver Aluminium Ellipse trim. It is packed with a lot of features such as power-adjustable sports seats with driver’s side memory, keyless entry, triple-zone automatic climate control, push-button start, adaptive dampers, 10-speaker 180-watt sound system, powered tailgate, and a reverse camera.

While the new Audi A5 comes with some latest technologies, the full-width air vent design of the car resembles the B9 A4. The Audi A5 Sportback features the brand’s virtual cockpit and a 12.3-inch digital instrument display that is placed on the dash. It is accompanied with an MMI navigation plus infotainment system which consists of an 8.3-inch freestanding screen. There is also an MMI touch rotary controller.

Moving to its oily bits, the new Audi A5 comes with a 2.0-litre turbocharged, four-cylinder petrol mill, which is capable of providing a maximum power of 252 hp between 5,000 and 6,000 rpm. The peak torque sticks at 370 Nm and comes in the range of 1,600 to 4,500 rpm. It is equipped with a Quattro permanent all-wheel drive and has a seven-speed S Tronic automatic transmission.

The second-generation Audi A5 comes with a price tag of RM 339,900, excluding the insurance and comes comes with a five-year and unlimited mileage warranty.
