Aston Martin DB10 'Spectre' Up For Auction
Kuala Lumpur: If you are a James Bond fan and have ample of money to spend, then your prayers have been answered. The Aston Martin DB10 which premiered in latest James Bond flick 'Spectre' is all set to go under the hammer for charity at London auction house of Christie's on February 18. This car is put up for a minimum price tag of RM6 million and the auctioned amount would go to some charitable organisations like Medecins sans Frontieres (MSF) and the United Nations Mine Action Service (UNMAS). Aston Martin's bond with 007 movies has come a long way, and this step further strengthens the bond. All this is being done to enhance the brand's image, just like Formula One campaign which it planned in July 2015.
Under the hood, it is powered by a 4.7-litre V8 petrol engine which churns out a maximum power of 430 hp. Further, it is mated to a six-speed manual transmission which helps the car to achieve a top speed of 306 kmph. The DB10 exterior is blessed with carbon fibre body while the interior also gets a carbon fibre trim, leather seats and some aluminium accents.
Earlier, the production of this special edition Aston Martin DB10 was limited to just 10 units and out of these, two units were left unmodified for display purposes. This auctioned unit is one of those two and would also feature the autograph of recent James Bond, Daniel Craig. For further information, this unit has not undergone any testing process which is necessary for production cars like crash testing and emissions regimes. So, the bidder has to be a very rich man as in spite of buying the car you won't be able to ride one.
Here in Malaysia, Aston Martin recently appointed Wearnes Automotive as their official representatives. This embarks the British Automaker's expansion plans in Malaysia with new dealership.
