All-new Volkswagen Tiguan Allspace Life launched in Malaysia; price starts from RM 172,990

KUALA LUMPUR: Volkswagen Passenger Cars Malaysia seems to be on a roll these days. It was only last month that the German automaker introduced the new Golf R-Line with the hatchback’s price confirmed only yesterday. And now VW Malaysia has graced us with the all-new Tiguan Allspace Life. Thus, bring the Tiguan Allspace line-up to a total of three variants - Elegance, R-line, and Life.

On the introduction of the new model, VPCM’s Managing Director said, “The Tiguan Allspace plays a key role in our portfolio, so we are pleased to be able to bring its full range to Malaysia. With the Life, we are offering a high-performing SUV that gives our customers excellent value for money. It is also an ideal option for a young family’s first choice of vehicle.”

In the VW Tiguan Allspace range, the Life version sits on the base and is offered at a retail price tag of RM 172,990. Each purchase will include three years of free maintenance, five years of unlimited mileage warranty, and five years of roadside assistance.

Powering the entry-level trim is a 1.4-litre TSI turbo engine generating maximum power of 150 PS along with a peak torque of 250 Nm. The drive is sent to the wheels via a 6-speed DSG transmission. The setup offers superb driving dynamics along with a fuel economy of 12.99 kmpl.

As for the design language, the new Tiguan Allspace Life showcases the same sharp look as its siblings. Some of the key features are the sleek grille with signature VW illuminated light strip, full LED headlights with an all-weather light system & dynamic cornering light, LED taillamps, silver ORVMs, 18-inch Frankfurt alloys, ‘Allspace’ trims, and ‘Tiguan’ lettering on the rear.

On the inside, the base variant features several comforting and convenience-providing elements. For instance, the car’s standard kit includes a 9.2-inch Discover Pro infotainment system, wireless app connect, leather multifunction sports steering wheel, 3-zone Climatronic air-con system, and navigation & voice control systems.

Safety here is taken care of by a pack of active & passive safety features. The list includes -
